J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une journée complète à Napa Valley avec quelques collègues amateurs de vin. J'ai donc fait une horaire intéressant.
10h-11h Silver Oak
Silver Oak Alexander Valley 2014

First tasting of the day. Not as good as i expected. Wood, cedar, green pepper. Not fruit forward. Short finish. Tannic.
Silver Oak Napa Valley 2014

Nice Bordeaux blend. Rich, medium complexity, fruit forward (red fruit). Some notes of cedar. Long and classy finish.
Silver Oak Napa Valley 2006

Very nice aged calicab with secondary notes. Nice complexity. Red fruits, plum, wood, cedar, long finish with complexity.
11h-12h30 Hall
Hall Jack's Masterpiece 2015

The fruit bomb of the tasting. Red fruits (cherry, rasberry), blueberry, plum, chocolate. Medium complexity and long finish. Should age well, but will lack complexity in the end, to my taste.
Hall Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Some heat on the nose, green pepper, herbs. Red fruits forward, complex, very long with floral and menthol hint. Some heat on the finish. Big potential.
Hall Bergfeld St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

More evolved than other Hall wines in the tasting. Wood, smoke, tobacco, plum, earth and floral. Nice complexity and long finish. Already ready to drink but will get better.

Wow. Not much aroma in the glass, but when tasting, very nice complexity. There's a nice velvety texture in the mouth, with smooth tannins, making this a wine for a perfect match with dark chocolate. Wood, smoke, with a mineral finish. Very nice.

Not much wine for the price. Average complexity. Average finish with mineral notes.
