Score: 92
Wine: Priorat Les Terrasses 2003
Dense, rich and smooth, this polished red offers ripe blackberry, roasted plum, dark chocolate, licorice and tobacco flavors over ripe tannins. So plush and harmonious it's easy to overlook the complexity and concentration. Drink now through 2012. 2,500 cases imported. (TM)

2001 :
Stephen Tanzer 90 points
made from estate grapes that did not make it into Alvaro Palacios' L'Ermita or Finca Dofi, plus purchased garnacha and cariñena) Red-ruby. Black fruits, licorice and tarry oak on the warm nose. Dense, sweet and full, with wild, superripe fruit flavors. Has a distinctly warm aspect but this harmonious blend also boasts plenty of character. Perhaps the best vintage yet for this wine.
Robert Parker erobertparker.com 89 points
exhibits a deep ruby color along with a bouquet offering notes of kirsch liqueur, wet steel, crushed stone, cherry liqueur, currants, and spice. Fruit-driven, open-knit, and concentrated as well as complex and elegant, this fine effort should merit an outstanding score after bottling.
2002 :
Corney & Barrow 92/100
Priorat doesn’t come cheap, but Alvaro Palacios Terrasses is a good introduction to the region. The 2002 is fantastic. It has a taut, spicy nose with lovely ripe fruit that’s sweet, liqouricey and earthy. This leads to a rich, open palate with spicy, earthy fruit and great length and elegance. Modern but classy. Very good/excellent 92/100
